Blood Donation Event – Great success
In a bid to raise and sustain social responsibility within its student community, Computer Domain Ltd. has recently organised a Blood Drive in front of its premises in Mosta. The event was organised by Computer Domain Director Ms. Miraide Callus Gatt in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Services mobile unit.
A good number of students participated in the event along with their teachers, members of the staff, management and directors. The event turned out to be a huge success and Computer Domain is looking forward to organising more awareness and charity activities of the sort in the near future. Members of the NBTS were very pleased with the turnout.
Miraide Callus Gatt said that “We are truly inspired with the generosity that both staff and particularly students have shown in this initiative, and this encourages us to continue our campaign of raising awareness of our social responsibility and contribution within our schools. Giving blood is honorable and the fact that only 5% of the possible local donors actually donate blood is worrying. We also hope that other entities will organise similar activities which will ultimately benefit our relatives, our friends and our society in general. “
Blood donation is a safe process and is transfused under scrupulous tests on every single donation.
With no alternative substitute for human blood and our hospitals needing blood around the clock, you are the difference between the life and death of a person.
