RCP - 15th September Testing Event
Overview
Important information regarding the forthcoming delivery of Federation RCP exams on 15th September 2010.
Details
The Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (Federation RCP) is a collection of three professional bodies (RCP London, RCP Edinburgh and RCPS Glasgow) which aims to improve the quality of patient care by continually raising medical standards.
Trainees in the UK will sit their Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) in the penultimate year of their specialist training. It is envisaged that overseas doctors will also sit this exam after having obtained MRCP (UK) and as they near the end of their training.
There are exams available in a variety of clinical disciplines; the Certificate in Rheumatology (SRHM) exams will be delivered on 15th September 2010.
These exams are delivered worldwide and there is a very strict quarantine process in place to manage delivery of the exam across different time zones (except Singapore and Hong Kong). The quarantine process is clearly detailed in Appendix 1 of the Chapter; however points to remember include:
-
Late Arrivals – candidates arriving at the centre after their appointment time will not be admitted under any circumstances.
-
Lateness from Scheduled Break – candidates arriving back at the centre after the designated time (appointment time + 4 hours) will not be admitted under any circumstances.
-
Early Finish – the exams are split into two x 3 hour sections. Candidates will not be permitted to leave the centre until the full 3 hour period has elapsed. In other words a candidate who finishes an exam section early must remain seated until the 3 hour period has elapsed.
