Dr Micallef congratulated the 15 young graduates who obtained their BSc degree in computer science with honours, achieving outstanding results. It is to be noted that 70% obtained First Class Honours and the remaining 30% a Second Class Honours Degree.
Ms Berkhout congratulated the graduates on their success. She emphasised that the current times are particularly challenging because of the global crisis. The challenges which the graduates have faced in overcoming their studies and getting such excellent results will prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead. Their qualifications will give them the foundation to achieve success, whether that is in the public services or in the private sector. The graduates are joining a community of 160,000 University of Hertfordshire alumni spread all over the world, she said.
The presentations of the degrees were made by Ms Berkhout, Mr Baddoo and Nicholas Callus, managing director of IIS.
